Crane Mahjong Mat

The Crane Courtyard sets their post at your table: a pair of blue attendants flanking a fan palm in full spread, pink blossoms rising around them inside a quatrefoil medallion, with tiled borders of blossom and vine in rose, French blue, and palm green framing the field like the courtyard's own walls. Serene at the center and storied at the edges, it deals as gracefully as it decorates — the cranes keeping their thousand-year watch over every hand. For the hostess who knows the best rooms in any great house are the ones with no ceiling at all.
